Square Pie is at the back of the market and sells pies that are, erm, square. There is a large selection of pies, including specials, with mash, peas (both normal and mushy) and gravy.
I had Steak and Guinness pie with a small mash (well, after yesterday at S&M, I didn't want to overdo it) - pie was £4.50, and mash was 90p. The pie was not the biggest I have had, but the filling was exceptional: the Guinness gave a sweetness and richness to the gravy inside the pie. The gravy which went over the top tasted good, but had a glossiness to it that had the appearance of mass production - it looked the sort of thing you would get in a TV dinner from Tesco. Mash was smooth, but had the nice rustic touch of some potato skins in it.
This is one I would definitely go back to for a good bit of comfort food.
