La Forchetta is in the lanes next to the King's Stores and opposite Bivio (see 19 Feb). Typical Italian sandwich bar with large range of sandwiches, ciabattas for toasting, jacket potatoes and pasta dishes; they also serve chilli, but I don't think the rice is as interesting as Hot Spot's.
I had Piri Piri chicken with cheese toasted ciabatta. It came with a large number of chunks of chicken coated in piri piri sauce, tomatoes and melted cheese. The bread was nicely toasted, filling hot, as well as nicely spicy. It was definitely a nice change from what I am used to.
I would go back and try some of the other ciabattas. Also, this looks to be the place for a breakfast sandwich, as it can be nicely on the way in from Liverpool St, and the bacon and egg sandwich costs only £2.00......
