The offer in our booklet from Spianata was for a free hot drink when you buy a sandwich, soup or salad. I don't normally have a hot drink with a sandwich, so this didn't appeal. I bought a Club sandwich (Chicken, bacon with avocado and salad), a bag of fancy (i.e. expensive) crisps and a clementine. The feature of this sandwich shop is the bread - a unique eponymous Italian style of bread.
Presentation was cute - all the sandwiches are in boxes - and you are given the option of toasted or cold. The bread was interesting - soft, with a distinct flavour of olive oil and with a small amount of salt on top. The filling was good, although the pieces of avocado were a bit on the small side.
The cost of the sandwiches are on the high side - at least £1 more than the equivalent at Prets with less choice, but you do get a better bread, however, you could still be hungry at the end of it, which is not the point! I won't be going back.
Summary - over-priced and small, but sweet bread.

I work almost oposite Spianata, & see how busy it is during the lunch period. The food is good & on the contrary to your previous bloggers comments, is very filling. The staff are all polite & friendly. Much more preferable to the dry tasteless food from other sandwich shops nearby.
