West Cornwall Pasty Co, 27 Mar 2007

I view this establishment as somewhere to get some food on the way home after a drink or two. Strictly speaking, I'm cheating, as I am writing about the kiosk at Marylebone Station, and not Liverpool St, but I'm sure you will forgive me.

I have had a few pastys (or is it pasties?) in my time - been down to Cornwall a few times, and each time, I have to have one. West Cornwall Co produces the best ones outside of the county. I've tried a number of different ones from traditional to chicken balti, but tonight for the first time I've had beef and guinness. I tried it because of the fantastic Square Pie I had a few weeks ago.

What can I say - absolutely fantastic. Sweet and rich, hot and filling - exactly what is needed after (in my case tonight) about 6 glasses of champagne. Highly recommended, but if you buy it for lunch at Liverpool St, you've missed the point!
