Thai Hut is the busiest of the six food stalls on the northern side of the market. When I went (about 12.45), the queue stretched back along the length of the other stalls. I fact, when I had been served, the queue was even longer, so choose your time carefully or be prepared for a wait.
I had difficulty deciding what to have - special chicken with noodles? Chilli chicken with rice? Lamb curry with potatoes? I eventually plumped for the Green Chicken Curry with rice to take away, for £3.50. Not sure if it's an illusion, but I think you may get a larger helping if you eat in, well, on the trestle tables at least. The rice was very small grained - almost couscous like in consistency - and there were large chunks of chicken in the curry. The flavour was extremely good: the chunks of chicken cooked nicely, with bamboo shoots and peas in the sauce. The menu described it as "Spicy", which is true, but I would not describe it as "hot" - "medium" is more the correct level. It was served with fresh coriander on top.
The long queues say it all, and they also ensure that the food is fresh, because they are serving non stop for hours. Definitely worth a few more visits to try out those other curries!
